Week 11 2025 CGA Power Rankings & Week 12 Schedule:

Each week we’ll release a “Power Rankings” that aims to provide a fluid picture of how each team across the NCAA is doing at the moment and where NCAA men’s gymnastics experts see them heading. The (+) or (-) next to each team relates to how far they rose or fell from the week before. This year’s Power Rankings are developed with input from major gymnastics publications including the CGA Coaches Poll, Inside Gymnastics, and Gymnastics Now.

In an absolute barn burner, Michigan (335.95) maneuvered past Nebraska (335.2) in Lincoln. Starting in the first rotation, world class gymnastics was on display. Charlie Larson (14.85) stuck his double layout dismount to beat Taylor Christopulos (14.75) in the first rotation.

The Huskers took back some ground in the second rotation, but Michigan freshman Aaronson Mansberger (14.45) claimed the event title. On rings, the duo of Asher Cohen (14.45) and Chris Hiser (14.35) put Nebraska over Michigan. The Husker vault rotation kept the momentum and lead for Nebraska. Chase Mondi’s (14.65) triple twisting vault topped the chart for the evening on that event.

Michigan regained control on parallel bars thanks to Olympian Fred Richard’s (14.95) national season high scoring routine. A hard fought battle on high bar wasn’t quite enough for Nebraska to take back the lead and Richard’s (14.35) performance sealed the deal for Michigan. Cole Partridge (14.2) and Max Odden (14.1) both gave it their all for Nebraska on high bar to finish 2nd and 3rd.

On Tuesday night, Illinois (322.45) traveled to Columbus and took down Ohio State (321.7) in a close fought battle. Kameron Nelson (14.5) led the Buckeyes to an early but slim lead over the Illini.

Then Illinois’ high powered pommel horse squad took control of the meet. Brandon Dang (15.0) put up a massive set to take the lead back for Illinois. Preston Ngai (14.05) put up a career high on rings to win the event and propel Illinois further ahead of Ohio State.

An up and down vault rotation for Illinois helped Ohio State reduce the Illini lead, but Illinois’ Garrett Schooley (14.35) beat out Nelson (14.25) for the vault title. Drake Andrews’ (13.35) steady parallel bars helped Ohio State top Illinois heading into the last rotation.

Another career high score from Ngai (13.75) on high bar pushed Illinois past Ohio State.

These exciting contests ended the quest for the Big Ten Regular season title, which Penn State and Michigan will share. The stage is now set for postseason contests.

USAG Championships take place next weekend, followed by conference championships on April 4th-5th, and NCAA Championships on April 18th-19th.
