Week 6 2025 CGA Power Rankings & Winter Cup Schedule:

Each week we’ll release a “Power Rankings” that aims to provide a fluid picture of how each team across the NCAA is doing at the moment and where NCAA men’s gymnastics experts see them heading. The (+) or (-) next to each team relates to how far they rose or fell from the week before. This year’s Power Rankings are developed with input from major gymnastics publications including the CGA Coaches Poll, Inside Gymnastics, and Gymnastics Now.

Week 6 marked the end of the first half of the season. The weekend kicked off with a friendly dual meet between Greenville (309.35) and Nebraska (322.7). Nathan York had a strong outing winning event titles on vault (14.45) and parallel bars (14.15). Max Odden showed out on high bar (14.1) with a masterclass routine.

A highly anticipated matchup between Michigan (326.4) and Oklahoma (327.7) with Simpson (285.55) took place. Charlie Larson (14.3) dominated floor yet again. Ignacio Yockers (14.45) won another pommel horse title and national team members including two Olympians topped the remaining podium spots. Paul Juda won rings, Fuzzy Benas won vault after being medically cleared for less than a week, and Fred Richard closed out the meet with victories on parallel bars and high bar. This contest came right down to the wire. A well prepared Oklahoma high bar squad sealed the deal for the Sooners, who have only been defeated once on home turf since 2007.

Another consequential meet was contested between the service academies, the All-Academy Championships. Air Force once again held the top spot, followed by Navy, and a strong Army team rounded out the podium. Air Force’s Erich Upton is having a phenomenal season, he won three event titles over the weekend, floor (13.7), vault (14.4), and parallel bars (13.65). Notably, Patty Hoopes (14.15) had a mishap on his pommel horse dismount which opened the door for his teammate Jack Matlock (14.175) to win the pommel horse title.

William & Mary, yet to compete at home this season, traveled to Springfield to close out the weekend leading into Winter Cup. William & Mary (313.5) won decisively (307.2) over their ECAC rival. Evan Wilkins impressed on floor (14.2) and rings (13.75) to win titles on both events. Connor Barrow’s vault run (14.5) was one of the cleanest across the NCAA this season, landing him the title on that event.
